THE JOB-FREE FUTURE METHODOLOGY

CREATE THE JOB-FREE FUTURE YOU WANT!

Did you know the average person who retires at 66 only lives 13 years! That's just wrong!

Maintaining healthy activity of the brain, the heart and the body are key to extending our years well beyond the average life expectancy and one of the main reasons we talk about living Job-Free vs. retired.

Being Job-Free doesn't mean that we aren't working, but our Job-Free work should be something we love to do or that brings us life.

  • Maybe it's watching grandkids,

  • Volunteering for a charity,

  • Running a business,

  • Owning income properties

  • Working part-time or seasonally,

  • Turning a hobby into part-time work.

Having the freedom to do what you WANT to do, rather than what you HAVE to do, is the goal of a JOB-FREE FUTURE!

Malcolm Forbes once said, “Retirement kills more people than hard work ever did.”

According to a 2018 Deloitte report, 85 percent of Baby Boomers plan to work into their 70s and even 80s.

As cultural anthropologist Mary Catherine Bateson explained, “Our longer life span has created a new stage of life in our middle years, a second stage of active adulthood between middle and old age, which can be enormously productive. As longevity increases further, this new stage is allowing people to design new kinds of lives in their 60s, 70s, and up.”

“What is the benefit of work? Activation of the brain and activation of social networks may be critical,” Nicole Maestas, an associate professor of health care policy at Harvard Medical School.

Work offers a routine and purpose, a reason for getting up in the morning. The workplace is a social environment, a community. Depending on your occupation, doing what you do involves engaging with cubicle mates, bosses, subordinates, union brothers and sisters, suppliers, vendors and customers. The incentive for workers to invest in their health while employed is strong.

DON’T ISOLATE!

“Even disliked colleagues and a bad boss, we argue, are better than social isolation because they provide cognitive challenges that keep the mind active and healthy.” (Munich Center for the Economics of Aging of the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy)

PURPOSE IS VITAL!

“Volunteering and paid work produces better physical and mental health,” said Linda Fried, a founder of the Experience Corps who is also dean of Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. “People need purpose. They need a reason to get up in the morning.”

If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life. (Attributed to almost everyone)

THE GOAL IS FREEDOM, NOT JUST MONEY!

We need money to facilitate the freedom, but it’s not the goal. So much of traditional “retirement” planning focus’ on having enough money saved up. For many, this is simply not possible, so they end up being hopeless about their future. Living Job-Free restores the possibility of having a great future and IS WAY MORE HEALTHY!

THERE ARE FOUR WAYS TO LIVE JOB-FREE

  1. Extreme Savings

  2. Part-Time Work

  3. Seasonal Work

  4. Income Producing Business/Property
